World Record Longest Squash Match AttemptTuesday, June 30, 2015 - Posted by SpenceJamie Barnett and Len Granger are attempting the World Record Longest Squash Match on 4th-5th September 2015, starting at 7am on the Friday. The event shall take place at Barnt Green Squash Club.
The current record stands at 36 hours and 3 mins, hence we are aiming at 37 hours or more! As part of the challenge we require 2 witnesses to be present at all times, these can be interchangeable as long as they are there all of the time. Witnesses have to be of a professional capacity, such as: Teacher, Lecturer, Nurse, Doctor, Dentist, Judge, Fireman, Police officer, Solicitor, Accountants, Surveyors Anyone with a professional qualification for a professionally recognised organisation, i.e. Chartered Surveyor, Hold England Squash qualification, Employed by England Squash, Professional Squash Player Witnesses may only do 4 hours at a time. The current schedule is attached which we need to get filled.
We also need stewards and referees (who can be anyone). Stewards are responsible for the running of the event from the balcony - making sure witnesses are signing in and out correctly, score sheets are collected properly, food and drink is available during breaks, organising people to run around for stuff as and when required Referee, well they referee! It's Finals Week in Worcestershire
The Worcester County Cup Final will be between Barnt Green and Stratford on the 27th March at Barnt Green The Worcester County Plate Final between Droitwich 4 and Stourbridge 3 will be on the 23rd March at Stourbridge Spectators are more than welcome at both events!

The Worcestershire Squash and Racketball Association would like to offer their congratulations to John Parkes from Barnt Green and Tommy Burton from Hereford for being selected in the England Mens Over 50 team to take on Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The games will be played at Nottingham on the 8th and 9th May 2015. |
